Covid-19

Good afternoon Encounter Church Family,

I trust you all had a wonderful Christmas season with your family, and now preparing to ring in the new year!

As I’m sure you all know, COVID-19 is again surging in our County and across the country. The new Omicron variant of the virus is fueling a winter wave of positive cases. New cases and hospitalizations have tripled in LA County in just the past few weeks. Given this, we must remain vigilant at Encounter as we meet for worship services in the effort to keep everyone safe, especially the elderly and those most vulnerable in our church family.

We have implemented safety protocols since we began meeting again earlier this year, and now want to reiterate those protocols:

  • Everyone MUST wear a mask while indoors. Once you sit in your seat, with others in your home, you may remove your mask. If you would like to enjoy a goodie and/or coffee after service while catching up with friends, please do so outdoors where you may safely remove your mask.
  • Maintain a safe distance from others, a minimum of 6 feet is recommended.
  • If you feel ill or are experiencing any cold-like symptoms (coughing, runny nose, fever, etc.) please stay home and participate in our worship service through online streaming.
  • Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer. It’s also best to NOT shake hands.

These are trying times, and COVID fatigue is certainly understandable, but we must continue to each take personal responsibility to not spread the virus to others. We want to make certain that all who come to worship on Sundays can do so safely.

Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to 2022 and all the things that God has in store for our church and our community this year.

Your Elder team
